A writer with a background in human geography, I love crafting stories about makeshift families and people’s connection with nature and place. Within my short fiction and a recently completed middle-grade novel, I'm always trying to capture the touching, subtle, and funny interactions of ordinary life.

I have a PhD in geography from UBC and, as an editor and literacy tutor, I love working with writers of all ages and backgrounds to help them figure out exactly what they want to say.

I am based in the Strathcona neighbourhood of Vancouver, Canada, on the ancestral, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I share my home with a filmmaker, a clown-in-training, and two young and busy cats.
